With Samsung's supposed September 4 Galaxy Note III unveiling event just a week away, now we hear rumours about the expected release dates for the device in various markets.
A new report claims that the Galaxy Note III will reportedly go on sale on September 27 in the Taiwanese market, while the device will be up for pre-orders from September 16.
The news comes from the Taiwanese site ePrice which cites its sources and claims that the dates of pre-orders and launch may be changed; however the site does not expect major changes in the roll out of the device in Taiwan.
Earlier, a Samsung official had confirmed that the company will be unveiling the next-generation Galaxy Note device and the long-rumoured Galaxy Gear smart watch on September 4. There have been reports that suggested that the South Korean major may start shipping the Galaxy Note III in September itself. An earlier report had indicated the likely shipping date of the latest Note device to be from week 36, which is from September 2 to September 8.
Recently, a new set of leaked images of the alleged Galaxy Note III screen surfaced online, that suggested that the next Galaxy Note device will feature a 5.68-inch display.
Other rumoured specifications include a full-HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels, quad-core Snapdragon 800/ Exynos octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM. The internal storage capacity is expected to start from 32GB, instead of 16GB as has been the norm with flagship devices. It is also said to sport a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 3,200mAh battery, and run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Samsung may start shipping its next generation Galaxy Note device from September and its rumoured smart watch from October.
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Note III and the Galaxy Gear smart watch at an event in Berlin on September 4. Now, a report in the Sam Mobile notes the shipping time of both the Samsung Galaxy Note III and the alleged Galaxy Gear smart watch. The site notes that its sources confirmed week 36, which is from September 2 to September 8, as the likely time when the South Korean major will start shipping its latest Note device while the Galaxy Gear smart watch would start shipping from week 40, which is from September 30 to October 6.
The site also claims that Samsung has decided to drop the 16GB storage variant from its future smartphones which means the lowest storage that will ship with the Galaxy Note III will be 32GB. While there is no official word on the reasons behind this, it could possibly be a reaction to the bad press that the Samsung Galaxy S4 received when it emerged that the 16GB Galaxy S4 has only 8.82GB of internal storage.
Another report by Sam Mobile has revealed the innards of the Galaxy Gear smart watch.
The rumoured specifications of the alleged smart watch include a 1.5GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 4212 processor with 1GB of RAM. It will reportedly feature a 1.67-inch AMOLED display that will have a resolution of 320x320 pixels. It is likely to include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC. The leaked specifications also claim that the smart watch may include a 2-megapixel camera.

Samsung Galaxy Note III Octa-core variant headed to India: Report

Friday, August 16, 2013

samsung-people.jpg
We already know the launch date for Samsung's next Note entrant, the Galaxy Note III, and the leaks related to the device don't seem to stop rolling. A latest report has revealed the various variants of the device and the list of countries that'll be getting each variant.
Sam Mobile has posted the complete list of countries where the two variants of the device, the SM-N900 (3G version) powered by Samsung Exynos 5420 (Octa-Core) processor and the SM-N9005 (LTE version) powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974), will allegedly head.
Much like the company's flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S4, every country will get a variant of the Galaxy Note III, based apparently on the fact that the market needs LTE capabilities or not. However, the site also notes that, "If your country gets both processor variants, it is a decision based on the marketing plan of Samsung. Which means if there are LTE networks in your country, Samsung will start with the LTE variant (Snapdragon 800) first."
The leaked country list also includes India with the country said to get the Octa-core SM-N900 (3G version) of the Samsung Galaxy Note II successor as expected.
The site also claims that there will be a third version, SM-N9002 which will be powered by Samsung Exynos 5420 (Octa-Core) processor and that will be a dual-SIM device. This device will apparently be only for the China market.
Earlier, specifications of the Galaxy Note III were revealed. The leaked specifications of the device include a 5.68-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. It is said to come with 3GB of RAM. The Galaxy Note III will reportedly have identical dimensions as its predecessor even though its sports a slightly larger display.
The one thing that was missing from the earlier leaked specifications was the GPU, and now we know that as well.
According to Sam Mobile, the SM-N900 will be backed by an ARM Mali-T628 MP6 GPU, the SM-N9005 will be backed by an Adreno 330 GPU while the dual-SIM variant will be powered by ARM Mali-T628 MP6 GPU.

The Galaxy Note III will be company's second flagship phone after the Samsung Galaxy S4 that the company unveiled in the first quarter. According to the site, the Galaxy Note III will come in two variants - SM-N900 and SM-N9005. The Galaxy S4 was released in two variants, the GT-I9500 that was launched in Asia, Africa and the Middle East while the GT-I9505 was rolled out in Europe and North America.
The leaked specifications of the Galaxy Note III include a 5.68-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. The device is said to be powered by a 1.8GHz Octa-core Exynos 5420 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The Galaxy Note III variant SM-N900 is likely to boast an ARM Mali-T628 MP6 GPU but for SM-N9005 variant the GPU is unconfirmed, notes the site. The Galaxy Note III will have identical dimensions as its predecessor Samsung Galaxy Note II in terms of phablet's size even though its sports slightly larger display, reports the site.
Galaxy Note III will reportedly come with a 13-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilisation. The site further claims that the Galaxy Note III will come in three storage variants - 16/32/64GB with microSD card support. The device is said to run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and will include a 3200mAh battery.
Samsung has already sent officially invitations for an event scheduled on September 4 in Berlin, where the South Korean major is expected to finally unveil the Galaxy Note III.

HTC teases 'Big Things ahead' on Twitter, hinting at One Max

HTC seems to be all set to spoil Samsung's Galaxy Note III party. A few hours after Samsung sent invitations for the 'Unpacked' 2013 event, HTC teased a new video tagged 'Big Things Ahead'.
The Taiwanese handset maker has posted a video of around 16 seconds on YouTube that ends with the notes, 'Here's To Change' and 'Happy Telephone Company'.
In the video, a person is seen with an HTC device (which we believe is the HTC One Max) that features the same design as that of the HTC One. The person with the device is shown waiting for a helicopter's arrival and then the person who gets down from the helicopter gives a land slap to the first person. The device is visible twice in the video though it is not clear whether the device is the new One Max or the original flagship device. However, one thing is clear, HTC is trying to create some buzz for its upcoming device.
Meanwhile, alleged images of the HTC One Max phablet surfaced online on Monday. The HTC One Max is likely to sport a 5.9-inch HD display and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, out-of-the-box. The device is said will be powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, while the original HTC One is powered by a Snapdragon 600 processor. The One Max also features the same UltraPixel and 2.1-megapixel front-facing cameras as the HTC One. Other specifications include 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage and a 3300mAh battery. The site also claims that the Taiwanese major may equip the latest handset with a stylus.
Samsung has also officially sent invitations for an event scheduled on September 4 in Berlin on Monday, where the company is expected to launch the Galaxy Note III phablet.
Here's the YouTube clip of the video.

Samsung may unveil Galaxy Note III, smart watch on September 4: Report

Saturday, August 3, 2013

samsung-flags-635.jpg
Samsung may unveil the next generation Galaxy Note device and its rumoured smart watch at an event on September 4.
A report in The Korean Media, first picked up by Techkiddy notes that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note III on September 4 at Berlin. That is two days before the IFA conference kicks off in Berlin, Germany, the event where the original Galaxy Note and its successor have been unveiled in past years.
According to the original report, Samsung will also use the event to unveil its wearable computing device - most likely a smart watch - giving it a head start over arch rival Apple, which is widely tipped to unveil its iWatch soon. Sony recently unveiled SmartWatch 2, a wearable companion for Android devices.
There's no fresh information in terms of specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Note III, or the smart watch. As per earlier reports, Galaxy Note III will come with a 5.7-inch full-HD AMOLED display. It will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor alongside 3GB of RAM and run on Android 4.3, the latest iteration of Google's operating system. In terms of camera, Samsung's latest phablet is expected to sport a 13-megapixel rear shooter.
Samsung recently unveiled the Exynos 5420 Octa processor, so the Galaxy Note III may be powered by Samsung's own processor in some markets, and the Qualcomm chip in others, similar to the strategy it followed with the Galaxy S4.

Samsung is in the news again with a new report now claiming that the South Korean device maker is allegedly working on tablets with 12.2-inch and 10-inch displays.
Twitter user @evleaks has revealed the specifications of Samsung SM-P900 and P600 which he claims are the model numbers of tablets featuring a 12.2-inch and 10-inch display, respectively. The tweet by @evleaks said, "Samsung SM-P900: 12.2-inch, Exynos 5 octa, 2560x1600, S-pen; P600: 10-inch, Snapdragon 800, also 2560x1600."
The tweet clearly mentions that the alleged 12.2-inch and 10-inch tablets will boast of a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels and would be powered by Exynos Octa 5 and Snapdragon 800 processor, respectively. The SM-P900 will supposedly support S-Pen, as per @evleaks.
Another technology site, RB Men has also published specifications of the alleged 12.2-inch model variant of the Samsung tablet dubbed as SM-P900. The site suggests that the SM-P900 tablet will run Android 4.2.
We had earlier reported about Samsung developing a 12.2-inch tablet of its own. The report claimed that the displays will be made by Sharp and will be based on IGZO (Indum-Gallium Zinc Oxide) technology. They'll sport a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels and will come with an S Pen stylus, which is usually bundled with devices under the Galaxy Note series. Samsung is likely to launch the tablet in the third quarter of 2013. It's worth mentioning that Apple is also said to be testing a large screen iPadmeasuring slightly less than 13-inches diagonally as per rumours.
Samsung has been launching tablets and phablets in various display sizes, one can fathom so it doesn't really come as a surprise but the tablets appear to be targeted at power users judging by their specifications. The South Korean device maker's list of screen sizes includes devices across 6.3-inch, 7-inch, 8-inch and 10.1-inch screens. The alleged SM-P900 will be the biggest device from the stable of Samsung in terms of screen size. However, there's no official word from the company about the two devices.
Meanwhile, Samsung's next generation Galaxy Note phablet, the Galaxy Note III has also been in the news for quite some time though there's no official word from the company, yet. The latest rumour claims that the alleged Galaxy Note III will feature a 5.7-inch display, 3GB of RAM and the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS.

Samsung's next generation Galaxy Note smartphone, the Galaxy Note III has been in the news now for quiet some time though there's been no official word from the company, yet. The latest rumour claims that the alleged Galaxy Note III will feature a 5.7-inch display, 3GB of RAM and the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS, as per Korean publication MK News.
The publication claims that the company first tested the Galaxy Note III with a 5.99-inch display but finalised a 5.7-inch one, considering the market response to the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3.
The site also suggests that the phablet will be powered by a Snapdragon 800 Chipset that supports LTE-A and would offer twice the speed of conventional LTE.
Prior to this, a couple of sketches that revealed the design and specifications of the Galaxy Note III were leaked online. The sketches confirmed the model number of the alleged Galaxy Note III as SM-N900 and suggested that the phablet will feature a Xenon Flash and a physical camera key.
