We recently heard that the upcoming Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for both Samsung Galaxy S3 & Galaxy Note 2 is reported to be delayed again and scheduled not earlier than November 2013. Factors such as the Galaxy S4 sales,Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and K Build release date affected the update release date.
Owners of Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 will have to wait until November or December 2013 for the release of the next major update to the devices. An insider from Samsung R&D, India, has just tipped us with the reason for this possible delay. According to the insider, Samsung R&D India is currently working on Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Update as well as the Jelly Bean 4.3 Update for the Galaxy S3, Note 2 as well the the Octa core Version of Galaxy S4 which currently sells in India.
The insider also suggests that Samsung might skip the 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update altogether due the introduction of the Vanilla Experience of Jelly Bean 4.3 in Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition.
In May 2013, the Android 4.2.2 firmware for S3 leaked and it featured S4 exclusive applications. However, sales of the Galaxy S4 and the recent release of the Android 4.3 source code pushed the update for S3 and Note 2 from July to November 2013.

The Android 4.3 is rumoured to have Bluetooth LE, Wi-Fi Always Scanning and new notifications bar. Samsung could either release Android 4.2.2 or Android 4.3 to S3 and Note 2. If the company decides on Android 4.3, the wait might be worth it.
Reports also claim that S4, S3, Note 3 and Note 2 are all getting Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie; however, not all of them are receiving it at the same time. Samsung will need the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie to boost marketing for the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3.
The K Release build has been reported as the next major Android update and assumed to be launched in October 2013. There is no confirmation if it is the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, but Google has already started developing the upcoming software.
Owners of Galaxy S3 and Note 2 can surely expect the update, but it requires some patience as the Samsung decides on the version to be pushed to the users finally.
